Save it before you leave
When registration or code replacement shows a new recovery code, save the full 32-character value in a private password manager or another storage location you control. Label it clearly as your AnonPing account credential. Avoid a shared note or a screenshot that automatically appears in a shared photo library.
Do not send the code to a friend, moderator or AI assistant. Someone who has it can use your account. Copying it to the clipboard is temporary and is not a backup.
Move to another browser or phone
Keep your original device signed in. On the new device, open AnonPing, choose the sign-in option and paste the full recovery code. Check that your expected nickname and friends appear before you close the old session.
Use sign-in rather than registration. Creating another account gives you another identity; it does not move friends or messages from the first account. Messages that have expired will not return simply because sign-in succeeds.
Lost or exposed code, but still signed in
Use the recovery-code controls in your signed-in profile to generate a new code. Save the new value immediately. Replacement invalidates the old code and signs out other devices; the current session remains available.
If you suspect someone else has the old code, replace it and review AI assistant connections separately, revoking any connection you do not recognize. Reset a publicly exposed friend invitation link separately too: a login code and an invitation serve different purposes.
No code and no signed-in device
The service cannot verify account ownership from a nickname, age, chat description or screenshot. There is no email reset route for an account that did not register an email address. A new account cannot be merged into an old one through the sign-in form.
Before clearing browser data, using a cleanup tool, changing phones or signing out of the last device, confirm that your saved code works. Account deletion is also different from signing out: deletion invalidates the account and code and is not a way to restart a session.
